Privacy Policy
Version 1.3 · Last updated: July 2026
We're still finalizing this policy as MyGather grows. We're sharing it early so you can see how we intend to handle your information during the beta. Have questions or feedback? Email
support@mygather.org.
MyGather is a community and marketplace platform operated by Accu Solution Services Limited ("MyGather," "we," "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, how we share it, and the choices you have — in plain language. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
The short version
- We collect the basics you give us — your name, photo, email, the court or area you choose, and your skill level — so you can find and join activities with real people nearby.
- Connecting a DUPR account is optional. If you do, we receive your verified DUPR rating from DUPR; if you don't, you simply set your own skill level.
- Your profile (name, photo, rating) is visible to the community by design — that's how people find each other.
- We don't use analytics or advertising cookies, we don't run behavioural or interest-based advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
- You can access, correct, or delete your information, and disconnect DUPR, any time by contacting support@mygather.org.
1Definitions
A few terms used throughout this policy:
- Personal information (Personal Data)
- Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual — for example your name, email, profile photo, or an online identifier.
- Service
- The MyGather app and the website at mygather.org.
- Service provider
- A company or person that processes information on our behalf to help us run the Service — for example our cloud host or, for the marketplace, our payment processor. Under the GDPR, these are our "data processors."
- You
- The person using the Service. Under the GDPR you may be called the "data subject"; for that regulation, Accu Solution Services Limited is the "data controller" that decides why and how your information is processed.
2Information we collect
Information you give us
- Profile information — your name, a profile photo, and your email address.
- Your home court or area — the court or general area you choose so we can show you nearby activities. This is a choice you make, not continuous location tracking.
- Your skill level — a skill level you set yourself, unless you connect DUPR (below).
- Things you post and send — activities you create or join, RSVPs, and any messages or feedback you send us. Our in-app feedback tool also notes which screen you were on, so we can find and fix issues faster.
Information from connecting DUPR (optional)
If you choose to connect your DUPR account, you sign in through DUPR's own secure sign-in, and we then receive your verified DUPR ID and rating from DUPR. We never ask you to type in a DUPR ID yourself — it only comes from that verified sign-in. See Section 6.
Information we collect automatically
We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. To keep the app running and secure, we process basic technical information such as your device type and app version, and information needed to prevent bots, spam, and abuse. We use only the cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to authenticate you, keep you signed in, and protect against fraudulent use of accounts.
3How we use your information
- To run the community — help you find, join, create, and organize activities, and show your profile to others so people can connect.
- To keep MyGather safe and real — verify that people are genuine, and prevent bots, spam, and abuse.
- To provide support and respond to your messages.
- To improve the service and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, serve interest-based ads, or sell it to anyone.
4Our legal basis (GDPR)
If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, the GDPR requires us to have a legal basis for using your personal information. Depending on the situation, we rely on:
- Your consent — for example, when you choose to connect DUPR.
- Performance of a contract — to provide the Service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to keep MyGather safe, genuine, and working well, in a way that doesn't override your rights.
- Legal obligations — where the law requires us to process or keep certain information.
We're happy to clarify the specific basis that applies to any particular use — just ask.
5How we share your information
- With other users. Your profile — name, photo, and skill/DUPR rating — is visible to the community by design, because that's how people find and connect with each other. You control what you add beyond the basics.
- With DUPR. If you connect DUPR, information flows between MyGather and DUPR as described in Section 6.
- With service providers who help us operate — for example hosting and infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) and, for the marketplace, payment processing (Stripe). They may only use your information to provide their service to us, are bound by contract to keep it confidential, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- For legal reasons — if required by law or valid request from a public authority, or in the good-faith belief that it's necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights, safety, or property of MyGather, our users, or the public, or investigate possible wrongdoing.
- In a business transfer — if MyGather is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be among the assets transferred. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.
6DUPR ratings
DUPR is the ratings system MyGather uses for pickleball. Connecting your DUPR account is entirely optional — if you don't, you simply set your own skill level and everything else works the same.
- What we receive. When you connect, you sign in through DUPR directly, and DUPR provides us your verified DUPR ID and rating. Your rating stays up to date automatically.
- Disconnecting. You can disconnect DUPR at any time. When you do, we stop receiving your DUPR rating and remove the DUPR-verified rating from your profile; your self-set skill level remains.
- Email sharing (only if you opt in). If we ever offer sharing your email with DUPR, it will be entirely optional and off by default — we'll ask for your separate consent first, and this policy will explain it before any such sharing happens.
7Payments and the marketplace
The MyGather marketplace — where you can book experiences from local operators — is not part of the initial beta. When it launches, payments will be handled by our payment processor, Stripe. Card and payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe under its own terms; MyGather does not store your full card number. Stripe adheres to the security standards set by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI-DSS). We'll expand this section with specifics before the marketplace goes live.
8Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information, and disconnect DUPR, at any time — contact us at support@mygather.org and we'll help. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on a request.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights. Under Canada's PIPEDA, you can access the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it, and you can withdraw consent (subject to legal or contractual limits). Under the GDPR, if you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you also have the right to:
- Access — receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Rectification — have incomplete or inaccurate information corrected.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your personal information where there's no good reason for us to keep it.
- Portability — receive certain information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to any direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time (this won't affect processing already carried out).
You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Just reach out and we'll assist.
9How long we keep information
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy — while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards as needed for legitimate business and legal purposes (for example, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements). After that, we delete or anonymize it. Basic technical information kept for security may be retained for a shorter period, except where we're required to keep it longer.
10How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so while we strive to protect your personal information we can't guarantee its absolute security.
11Who can use MyGather
MyGather is intended for people aged 16 and older. For members who are minors in their region, we apply additional safeguards to help keep them safe and limit the information shown about them. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us information, contact support@mygather.org and we'll address it.
12Where your information is processed
MyGather is based in Canada. We and our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries where the parties involved in the processing are located, and where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service and providing your information, you understand it may be transferred to and processed in those locations. We take steps reasonably necessary to ensure your information is treated securely and in accordance with this policy wherever it's handled, and we don't transfer it to a country or organization unless adequate controls are in place.
13Links to other services
The Service may contain links to other websites or services we don't operate — including DUPR and, for the marketplace, Stripe. When you follow those links, your information is handled under that third party's own privacy policy. We have no control over, and aren't responsible for, the practices of services we don't operate, so we encourage you to review their policies.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as MyGather grows — for example when the marketplace or new features launch. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date, and for significant changes we'll provide additional notice where appropriate — for example by email or a prominent notice in the Service before the change takes effect.
