Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 · Last updated: July 2026
These guidelines grow with the community. They set out what we expect of everyone on MyGather during the beta. They work alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Questions or something to report? Email support@mygather.org.

MyGather exists to help real people meet and do things together — joining a game, filling an open spot, or hosting a gathering of their own. That only works if the community is genuine, welcoming, and reliable. These guidelines explain how we keep it that way, and what happens when someone doesn't.

1The spirit of MyGather

MyGather is a community first. Whether you're posting that you're looking for a game, opening a seat in one, organizing a gathering, or just saying you're in for something social, the goal is the same: to connect with real people nearby and follow through in the real world. We ask everyone to act in that spirit — generous, honest, and considerate of the people they're meeting.

2Show up as you said you would

The single most important thing you can do for the community is to show up as you said you would. When you join a game or say you're in for a gathering, someone is counting on you. If your plans change, update your RSVP or let the organizer know as early as you can. Reliability is what makes MyGather worth using — and, over time, it's what earns your trust standing in the community (see Section 6).

3Treat people with respect

Everyone is welcome here. To keep it that way, please:

Discrimination and harassment have no place on MyGather, whether in what you post, how you message, or how you treat people when you meet.

4Be genuinely you

MyGather only works if people are who they say they are. Please:

5What you post

You own what you post — your profile, photos, activities, and messages — and you're responsible for it. When you post, you confirm it's yours to share and that it doesn't break the law or these guidelines. Please don't post content that:

During the community beta, activities are about getting together — not selling. Posts shouldn't advertise paid services, fees, or costs; paid experiences will have their own home in the marketplace when it launches. We may remove content that breaks these rules.

6How trust works here

MyGather is built on a simple idea: people earn and display trust — they are never publicly ranked, scored, or rated against one another. There is no public leaderboard of people, and no one is graded by the community.

Public star ratings exist only for operators in the marketplace (when it launches), and only after a completed booking. People in the community are never publicly rated.

7Reporting and blocking

If someone makes you uncomfortable or breaks these guidelines, you can report them or their content, and you can block them so they can no longer interact with you. Reports come to us and help our moderation team keep the community safe. You'll find report and block options on member profiles and on activity details. If you ever feel you're in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

8Meeting in person

MyGather helps people meet and do activities in the real world. We work hard to keep the community genuine, but we can't guarantee any member or activity, and we don't control what happens when people meet in person. Please use good judgment: meet in public places when you can, tell someone where you're going, and take part in activities at your own risk. Activities can carry physical risk — you're responsible for deciding what's right for you.

9How we enforce these guidelines

We'd always rather help than penalize, but to protect the community we may remove content or activities, issue a warning, or limit, suspend, or close accounts that break these guidelines, harm the community, or create risk for others. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to permanent removal. Where it's fair and possible, we'll let you know. These guidelines form part of our Terms & Conditions.
